Marlaina Peterson won two matches to maintain her team lead in the win column, but the Milligan College tennis teams fell short at Brenau University Friday and SCAD Atlanta Saturday. Milligan's women lost to No. 5 Brenau, 9-0, before losing to No. 18 SCAD, 7-2. Milligan's men lost to SCAD, 6-3.

Peterson helped Milligan (8-5, 1-2 AAC) pick up both points in the match against SCAD as she was victorious 6-2, 6-3 at No. 6 singles and 8-4 with
Minda Martin at No. 3 doubles. Peterson moved to 11-2 in singles this season and 8-3 in doubles.

The men's side featured a tight finish in the Buffs' AAC opener. Milligan (6-6, 0-1 AAC) opened up a 2-1 lead through doubles, thanks to
Mason Grear and
Taylor Graalman winning a close match at No. 1 doubles, 9-7, and
Joseph Lyttle and
Boone Allison picking up a defaulted win at No. 3 doubles.
Thomas Hurt went on to win at No. 6 singles 6-0, 6-0, but SCAD took the other five points to win the head-to-head.

Charlie Moseley pushed his match to a third set but lost 6-2 in the decider. Graalman suffered his first loss in singles this season at No. 2, moving to 11-1.
