BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (March 20, 2019) â€" Marlaina Peterson and Minda Martin won their team-leading seventh doubles match of the season as a pair, but the Milligan College tennis teams lost a decisive match at nationally ranked Union College Wednesday evening in Appalachian Athletic Conference action. Milligan lost 8-1 to No. 19 Union on the women's side. Milligan lost 9-0 to No. 16 Union on the men's side.
 
Peterson and Martin were the only winners for Milligan on the day, as they won 9-7 at No. 3 doubles. It was one of two close doubles matches on the women's side before Union swept through singles action all in straight sets. On the men's side, Union again swept through all the action in straight sets to pick up the win.
 
Milligan's women moved to 9-6 (1-3 AAC); the men fell to 6-8 (0-2 AAC).
 
Up next, Milligan comes home to Mathes Tennis Center for the first time this spring when the Buffs host Southeastern University Saturday at 11 a.m. It will be the first of six more dates Milligan plays at home.
