Snaider Torrealba and
Juan Vasquez provided a couple of sparks on offense with a pair of home runs, but Milligan College's baseball team lost the opening game of a three-game Appalachian Athletic Conference series to No. 24 Bryan College, 11-4, Thursday evening at Anglin Field.

Torrealba hit a two-run shot to left in the second inning before Vasquez hit a solo shot to left-center in the sixth inning.
Blake Dutton drove in Milligan's only other run with a single in the eighth.

Torrealba's homer made it 3-2 as Milligan (15-20, 6-13 AAC) fell behind on a two-run homer from Bryan in the top of the first inning. Bryan followed with a run in the second, three in the fourth and four in the sixth before rounding out the Lions' scoring in the eighth with their last run.

Seven Milligan arms saw action on the night, most notably
Mike Perez who went three innings and allowed only four hits and one run while striking out four.
Blake Lucas threw the first inning and suffered his first loss to move to 1-1 on the season.

At the plate,
Camron Harper and Torrealba paced Milligan's offense with two hits apiece.

Up next, Milligan and Bryan will decide the series Friday with a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m. back here on Anglin Field. The Buffs' next home game after that will be the following weekend in a three-game AAC series against St. Andrews.
