Buffs suffer second loss at home to Pikeville

MILLIGAN, Tenn. (Nov. 5, 2020) – For the second game in a row, freshman Jaycie Jenkins led the Milligan University women's basketball team, but for the second game in a row, the Buffaloes lost at home, this time falling to Pikeville 84-48 Thursday night in Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.

Jenkins was perfect from the field on five attempts and added a perfect effort of 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. She also came up with two steals.

Other Buffs in the scoring column included Teal Davis, who went 3-for-6 to finish with seven points, and Madi Runnels and Malarie Tallent, who both finished with five. The game saw 11 Buffs in the scoring column.

Milligan and Pikeville played even for the first few possessions before a 12-0 run midway through the first quarter shifted things in favor of the Bears the rest of the way. Pikeville later added a 6-0 run to extend its lead to 20 points in the second quarter and a 7-0 run to extend its lead to 30 points in the third quarter.

Up next, Milligan plays at home for the third time this week on Saturday when the Buffs host Point for their Appalachian Athletic Conference opener. Opening tip is set for 2 p.m. with a men's game to follow. The games can be followed online at milliganbuffs.com.
