Milligan begins their season on the road, taking on both the Lindsey Wilson College (Ky.) Blue Raiders and the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) Patriots on Oct. 30 and 31, respectively. It will be a 7 p.m. tip on the campaign's first day, and an 11 a.m. start on day two. Both games will be played at UC in Williamsburg, Ky.
Pippa Passes, Ky. is the next destination for the Buffaloes, as they head out to Alice Lloyd College to face the Eagles on Nov. 4.
The Lady Buffs then come home for a matchup with the Wildcats of Bethel University (Tenn.) inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse on Nov. 10 at 5 p.m.
Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) opponent, Brenau University (Ga.) comes to Milligan on Nov. 12 at 5:30 p.m. to begin league play, while the Buffs still host one more non-conference opponent prior to their next AAC tussle. The University of Rio Grande (Ohio) RedStorm trek to East Tennessee on Nov. 15 at 2 p.m.
"It's always a goal of ours to play the most challenging non-conference schedule that we can," said coach Greer. "Last season, Bethel finished in the Semifinal round of the National Tournament. Bethel, Cumberlands, Rio Grande, and Lindsey Wilson all made the National Tournament last season, and we can expect that again. Playing a few teams from the Mid-South Conference is critical for national ratings, and playing Rio Grande and Alice Lloyd out of the River States Conference has proven to be valuable for us as well."
The remainder of the Buffaloes' conference slate in November includes two more home matchups. On Nov. 19, Milligan hosts Bluefield University (Va.) at 5:30 p.m., before welcoming Union Commonwealth University (Ky.) on Nov. 22 at 2 p.m.
December will be a month spent mostly away from home by the Buffs, as they begin with the short trip to Knoxville, Tenn. for a faceoff with the Johnson University Royals at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 3. Then, they come back to Lacy for their lone home battle of the month against the Columbia International University (S.C.) Rams on Dec. 6 at 2 p.m.
The remainder of 2025 for the Buffaloes includes two away AAC tilts with the University of Pikeville (Ky.) Bears on Dec. 10 at 5:30 p.m. and at the Montreat College (N.C.) Cavaliers on Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. Additionally, Milligan heads southeast to the campus of Webber International University (Fla.), where they will face the Warriors of WIU on Dec. 29. They will also take on the Southeastern University (Fla.) Fire in a neutral-site battle at WIU on Dec. 30 at 3 p.m.
"We prioritize a "big trip" every other season for our program," Greer stated, "but we also want to make sure we play teams that are going to make us better. Webber and Southeastern are two that we will be directly compared to in our ARC rankings for the National Tournament. Getting wins on the road will be valuable for many reasons. We want to achieve on the court, but we are also very excited to spend time together as a team while we're in Florida."
January is a busy month for MU, as they play a total of nine times, with eight being conference matchups. The month starts with the second bout of the season against Brenau, this time on the road in Gainesville, Ga. on Jan. 3 at 2 p.m. Two more road contests loom for Milligan, as they head to Barbourville, Ky. to play Union Commonwealth on Jan. 7 at 5:30 p.m. Then, it's a jaunt to Dayton, Tenn. for a matchup with the Bryan College Lions at 2 p.m. on Jan. 10. The Buffs then return home for a midweek battle with the Bears of Truett McConnell University (Ga.) on Jan. 14 at 5:30 p.m., before hitting the road again to play the Columbia College (S.C.) Koalas on Jan. 17 at 2 p.m.
Three home contests in a row for the Buffaloes within the AAC on Jan. 21 at 5:30 p.m. against Pikeville, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. versus the Reinhardt University (Ga.) Eagles and Jan. 28 at 5:30 p.m. against Montreat, send the Buffs to a matchup with first-year program Georgia Gwinnett College in a non-conference setting.
February's slate is made up of five contests to close out the regular season. Bluefield will host Milligan on Feb. 4 at 5:30 p.m., which will precede the Buffaloes returning home to battle the Tennessee Wesleyan University Bulldogs on Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. Then, the first ever AAC meeting between Milligan and Spartanburg Methodist College (S.C.) comes to pass on Feb. 11 at 5:30 p.m. in Spartanburg. A tilt against Johnson from the comforts of Lacy is the penultimate contest of the season on Feb. 14 at 2 p.m., prior to closing out the year with a trip to Columbia, S.C. to face Columbia International on Feb. 21 at 2 p.m.
The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Basketball Tournament will begin on Feb. 25 and conclude on Feb. 28. The tourney will be played at the MeadowView Marriott Resort and Convention Center in Kingsport, Tenn. Play-in games will be played for the No. 7-No. 10 seeds on Feb. 25 to decide the final eight squads. Then, Quarterfinals will be played on Feb. 26, Semifinals on Feb. 27 and the tournament final on Feb. 28.
"I think our conference is going to be stronger this season than last," Greer concluded. "There's a lot of talent returning in the league, and we have a few new coaches and one new team. I'm excited to learn about some of the new systems, and I'm confident everyone will be ready to bring their best night in and night out. There's a lot of basketball to play before February, so we will worry about one game at a time. For now, we are working hard in preseason and ready to get practice started in the next few weeks."
