WALESKA, Ga. - Milligan University's swim programs took home both the men's and women's Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Swimmers of the Week for the first time in 2025-26. The freshman
Christoph Haenel took the men's honor, while seasoned veteran
Riley Renaud was selected for the women's plaudits.
Haenel's award comes as a result of dominance in the butterfly discipline, as he took home event titles in both the 200 Butterly and the 100 Butterfly at this weekend's meet against both Carson-Newman and Lenoir-Rhyne. His 200 time was a stellar 1:50.46, while he posted a 49.59 in the 100, which was just 0.05 seconds slower than his fastest time this season.
Renaud came away with another distance title in the 1000 Freestyle, posting a 10:58.32 mark to start her weekend. She also placed as the runner-up in the 500 Freestyle, a race in which she touched the wall in 5:23.14.
