The Lady Buffaloes begin their year with a pair of home non-conference tilts inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. They begin the season as hosts to NCAA Division II North Greenville University (S.C.) on Oct. 31 at 2 p.m., before welcoming the Alice Lloyd College (Ky.) Eagles on Nov. 3 at 6 p.m.
Next up is a trip to the Patriot Classic, hosted by University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) on Nov. 5-6. The Buffs will match up with the Lindsey Wilson College (Ky.) Blue Raiders on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m., before meeting the hosting Patriots at 11 a.m. on Nov. 6.
"We always prioritize a challenging non-conference start to our schedule," said Greer, "and this year is no different. Additionally, North Greeneville will be a different look for us. Their coach grew up in the Tri-Cities and, Senior,
Bailey McCoy's sister plays there. It will be a fun opening day for both of our teams."
The AAC schedule starts with Milligan on their home floor against Brenau University (Ga.) on Nov. 11 at 5:30 p.m. That tilt will be followed by a return to the road for two games against the Bluefield University (Va.) Rams (Nov. 18, 5:30 p.m.) and the Union Commonwealth University (Ky.) Bulldogs (Nov. 21, 2 p.m.).
One game will be played by the Buffaloes outside of conference the week of Thanksgiving, as Milligan will travel to Midway, Ky. for a battle against the Eagles of Midway University in the River States Conference (RSC) on Nov. 23 at 4 p.m.
December begins with the Buffs hosting a Dec. 2 contest at home against the Johnson University Royals at 5:30 p.m. Columbia International University (S.C.) then greets Milligan in Columbia, S.C. on Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. The Buffaloes have two more home battles in the month, hosting the University of Pikeville (Ky.) (Dec. 9, 5:30 p.m.) and Montreat College (N.C.) (Dec. 12, 2 p.m.).
Milligan has a trio of bouts away from home in non-conference play in the latter half of December, as a trip down to Montgomery, Ala. for the Faulkner Christmas Classic makes up two of those three contests. Milligan will play Faulkner University's Eagles on Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. (1 p.m. CT) and will have a neutral-site game against the Brewton-Parker Christian University (Ga.) Barons on Dec. 17 at 4 p.m. (3 p.m. CT). Lastly, the Lady Buffs will play the University of Rio Grande (Ohio) RedStorm on Dec. 30 in Rio Grande to close out 2026.
"We will have a solid AAC schedule lined up going into Christmas," Greer continued, "and then we will be challenged on another level with these non-conference games. It is normal for Brewton-Parker, Faulkner, and Rio Grande to be nationally ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA. These games will be a strong close to 2026 and the Rio game will certainly prepare us to get back into conference play in January."
Milligan starts the new year at Brenau on Jan. 2 at 2 p.m. The Buffaloes then welcome Union Commonwealth to East Tennessee on Jan. 6 at 5:30 p.m. Another home bout against the Bryan College (Tenn.) Lions will follow at 2 p.m. on Jan. 9. The Buffs will then have a 5:30 p.m. matchup with the Truett McConnell University (Ga.) Bears in Cleveland, Ga. on Jan. 13. Milligan follows that up with a game against the Columbia College (S.C.) Koalas on Jan. 16 at 4 p.m. inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. Three games on the road will close out the month, with Pikeville (Jan. 20, 5:30 p.m.), Reinhardt (Jan. 23, 2 p.m.) and Montreat (Jan. 27, 5:30 p.m.) hosting the MU squad.
For Milligan, just five regular-season games remain on the schedule for the month of February. They will play Bluefield on Feb. 3 at 5:30 p.m. on their home floor. Tennessee Wesleyan University's Bulldogs then meet the Buffaloes in Athens, Tenn. on Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. Then, the Spartanburg Methodist College (S.C.) Pioneers battle the Lady Buffs inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse on Feb. 10, as the matchup will get started at 5:30 p.m. On Feb. 13, the Buffs will make the trip to Johnson University in Kimberlin Heights, Tenn. for a 2 p.m. tip-off. Finally, Columbia International comes to the Buffaloes for the regular-season finale on Feb. 20 at 2 p.m.
The AAC Women's Basketball Tournament will begin on Feb. 24 and conclude on Feb. 27. The tourney will be played at the MeadowView Marriott Resort and Convention Center in Kingsport, Tenn. Play-in games will be played for the No. 7-No. 10 seeds on Feb. 24 to decide the final eight squads. Then, Quarterfinals will be played on Feb. 25, Semifinals on Feb. 26 and the tournament final on Feb. 27.
The Buffaloes hope to earn a bid to the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship Tournament in 2027, as the First and Second Rounds at regional sites will take place on March 12-13. Following that, the Final Site is in Sioux City, Iowa from March 18-23 at the Tyson Events Center.
"I think our league has more depth this season than ever before," concluded Greer. "This is my 15th year as part of the AAC and, overall, our league is better than ever. We have some programs on the rise, new coaching staffs, and, of course, new great athletes entering the league. As usual, our goal will be to win our conference championship and earn an opportunity to play in the NAIA National Tournament."
