INDIANAPOLIS – On Saturday and Sunday, the Milligan men's bowling squad hit the lanes in Indianapolis at the nationally-acclaimed Hoosier Classic. At the event's conclusion, the Buffaloes found themselves in 18
th place out of a massive field of 78 teams.
Milligan bowled five team games and 15 bakers to get to the end of the Hoosier Classic, as the squad managed 4,981 in team games and then followed that up with 2,762 in the baker competition. In total, the team felled 7,743 pins over the two-day tourney.
Sean Jenkins paced the Buffs, once again, finishing in 44
th with a high-level 213.4-pin average across five team games. He was remarkably consistent, toppling no fewer than 204 pins in a game and no higher than 225. He came away with 1,067 total pins.
Chance McLane also concluded the weekend in the top 100, placing 98
th with a grand total of 1,018 pins for a 203.6-pin average. He had two games in the mid 200's, with 253 in his third game and 248 in his final of five.
Cameron Shockey placed 108
th with 1,009 pins in five games. He played his best in the middle of his performance, knocking down 244 in the third game of the weekend. He averaged 201.8 pins.
For
Xander Stephens, it was a 138
th-place finish, as he finished with 981 pins across the five team contests. He bowled over 200 in each of his final three games after a slow start. He rounded out the list of Buffs who bowled all five team games.
Next on the list for the Buffaloes is a trip back down to the Bowlero Savannah in Savannah, Ga. for the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) Championships on Feb. 20-21. Milligan is looking for their first conference title, after placing third or better in each of their first three seasons within the conference, including a runner-up finish in 2024-25.
