GREEN BAY, Wis. — On Friday, the Milligan University men's bowling team did battle with the SCAD Savannah (Ga.) Bees in round four of bracket play on day two at the USBC ITC Championships. With a win, the Buffaloes would move forward in the losers' bracket with a chance to continue their quest for the national title. A loss, however, would conclude Milligan's campaign.
The Buffaloes and Bees battled for six baker games out of a possible seven, with SCAD Savannah advancing over the Buffs by a final of 4-2.
For the Buffs, the loss put them in the No. 9-No. 12 position in the final standings, with eight teams remaining in play for the national championship.
"Overall, it was a great tournament!" exclaimed head men's coach
Michael Hall. "The four returners and four freshmen really stepped up to the plate. The lane conditions were probably the hardest we've had all season, but that's what a championship tournament should be like. Winning the trophy isn't as important as the relationships built between these young men.I'm definitely looking forward to next season already."
The Milligan roster for the tourney included
Sean Jenkins,
Caleb McDonald,
Ty McGuffin,
Chance McLane,
Jackson McRae,
Cameron Shockey,
Xander Stephens and
Aiden Totherow.
