KINGSPORT, Tenn. – In back-to-back years, the Milligan University Athletics Department has captured the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Duard Walker All-Sports Trophy, as announced by the AAC on Monday. The Buffaloes combined for 442.5 points across the 2025-26 athletics seasons, improving by 36.5 points upon their output from their outstanding 2024-25 performance. It is the Buffaloes' 12
th time winning the trophy, overall.
In the spring, Milligan brought home conference titles across three sports, as the men's outdoor track & field team, women's outdoor track & field and baseball squads each added 30 points toward the standings. Men's golf vaulted to a second-place finish to notch 25 points, while the women's golf team picked up 20 with a third-place finish at their respective AAC/NAIA Direct Qualifiers. The Buffaloes' men's tennis program also concluded the spring in third in the conference to add 20 more points, while women's tennis finished fifth (12 points) and softball tied for seventh (9.5 points).
This is the sixth year the current point system has been used. Teams earned points based on their regular-season finish only unless the sport (i.e. cross country, track & field, swimming & diving) only hosted a championship meet. Points are assigned as follows: first place received 30 points, second place 25, third place 20, fourth place 15, fifth 12, sixth 11, seventh 10, eighth 9, ninth 8, 10th 7, 11th 6, 12th 5, 13th 4, 14th 3, 15th 2, and 16th 1. If teams are tied for a place, the points are shared. For example, if two teams are tied for first place, each will receive 27.5 points (30 points for first plus 25 points for second, divided by two).
