GREENWOOD, Ind. - On Tuesday, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2026 Baseball Academic All-District teams. Milligan University had three members of their squad recognized this season.

Right fielder Brody Melton, center fielder Nick Iezzi and starting pitcher Jonah Ward qualified to be part of the 2026 outfit.

Melton graduated with a 3.62 GPA and a Bachelor's degree in Economics. He was one of the Buffaloes' most potent bats this season, blasting eight homers and driving in 56 RBI. Both of those totals were second highest on the roster. He also stole 21 bases on 24 tries and reached base at a .414 clip while hitting .327.

Iezzi had a strong senior season, as he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Sport Management with a 3.50 GPA. Iezzi hit .277 in 2026 with three homers and 37 runs driven in. He sported a .371 on-base percentage on the campaign and fielded at 1.000 for the year on 111 chances.

Ward began his Milligan career with a solid season as a starter in the three-man weekend pitching rotation. He has managed a 3.97 GPA across his first full year in the Accounting program and pitched to a 4.01 ERA across his 15 starts. In 76.1 innings, he induced plenty of weak contact and parlayed that into a 8-3 win-loss record in 2026.

CSC's Academic All-District program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom. To be eligible for the award, voted on by Athletic Communication professionals, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative 3.50 GPA or higher and must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution.
