KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2026 baseball All-America Teams on Thursday afternoon. Milligan University's Canyon Geren was selected as NAIA All-America First Team, becoming an All-American for the first time in his final year as a Buff. He is the second ever Milligan baseball player to be selected as a First Team All-American, joining A.R. Rhea who was also a starting pitcher in 1990.

Geren was among the nation's top starting pitchers in 2026, concluding his season with a sparkling 2.32 earned run average (11th in NAIA) and a 9-2 win-loss record. He totaled 102 strikeouts (T-14th in NAIA) on the season across just 85.1 innings pitched. He was a huge factor in the Buffaloes' Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Regular Season Championship run, amassing a 10-strikeout, seven-inning scoreless start against Johnson in the final series of the campaign. In his next start in the AAC Tournament, he had a career-high 12 strikeouts against Bryan, continuing to bolster his case for All-American honors.
