CSC Tabs Six Buffs Tennis Student-Athletes as Academic All-District

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Milligan University tennis teams had six student-athletes selected as Academic All-District honorees by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday. CSC's Academic All-District program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the tennis court and in the classroom. To be eligible for the award, voted on by Athletic Communication professionals, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative 3.50 GPA or higher and must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution.

Milligan had four women's and two men's honorees. Sophomore Gonzaga Lafarga and Senior Marcos Moreno were tabbed to the men's Academic All-District Team. Sophomores Lauren Wimmer and Marta Miralles, as well as Seniors Sophie Dunman and Tiana Shelton, notched the women's plaudits.

On the women's side, Wimmer was the No, 3 singles player for the majority of the season, including at the year's conclusion. She has a 3.92 cumulative GPA in the Biology program.

Miralles owns a sparkling 3.98 GPA in the Business Administration program across her first two years at MU, while also playing in the No.1 and No. 2 singles slots, and as part of the No. 1 doubles pairing in 2024-25.

Dunman graduated with a psychology degree, boasting a 3.81 GPA. She spent time as a No. 2-5 singles player for the Buffs this season, while also competing in doubles across No. 1 and No. 2 matches during the campaign.

For Shelton, it was a great final year that saw her compete across No. 3-5 singles matches, as well as No. 2 doubles contests for most of the season. She graduated with a 3.61 GPA and a degree in Social Work.

For the men, Lafarga was the top singles player for the Buffaloes all year long, and posted a perfect 4.00 GPA in Mechanical Engineering. He has embodied the level of achievement to be selected for the award.

Moreno graduates with a cumulative GPA of 3.85 with a Business Administration degree, and spent time as a fixture in the middle of the singles order, as well as a member of the No. 2 doubles pairing for the majority of the campaign.
