KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — On Friday, the Milligan University outdoor track & field squads began their two-day trip to the Tennessee Invite at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. A day that saw 11 personal or season-best times tallied by the Buffs began their weekend with a bang.
In the field,
Trevor Sinard tossed the Discus a distance of 49.59m to place third overall, ahead of several NCAA Division I competitors. His teammate
Landry Buckles came away with a personal-best mark in the event, as well.
The women's 1500m saw three Buffaloes set personal-best times, as
Kaylee Coll (4:43.58),
McKenzie Fitzgerald (4:46.79) and
Isabelle Johnson (4:56.37) posted those marks.
The men's 1500m saw similar results, with
Marti Molins Rallo (2nd, 3:49.82) and
Aaron Gottlied (10th, 3:53.99) each setting personal-best clips. Additionally, Molins Rallo now holds the No. 5 time at the NAIA level.
Jacob Moore posted a collegiate personal-best launch in the Pole Vault, reaching the 4.16m mark.
On the women's side,
Aleah Soderman now holds the top time in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) in the 400m Hurdles. She reached a personal-best 1:06.22 in the event.
Brayden Simpson had a season-best clip in the men's 400m Hurdles. His time of 54.36 seconds is a top-30 time in the NAIA so far this season.
Ellen-Mary Kearney posted a runner-up finish in the women's 5000m, clocking in at 17:16.79 to set the No. 7 time in the NAIA in the event this year. Her teammates
Karly Wilhjelm (7th, 17:38.08) and
Joanna Halterman (10th, 17:45.54) both set PBs and each slot into the NAIA's top 15 runners at the 5k distance this season.
Caleb Greene ran the men's 5000m race and finished in fourth overall. His personal-best time of 14:52.73 places him in the nation's top 25 this year and the second-fastest in the AAC.
More action is set to come for the Buffaloes on Saturday, when 15 athletes and a relay squad hit the track and field at UT.
