Buffs Athletic Department Sits in 10th in Winter NAIA LEARFIELD Director’s Cup Standings

CLEVELAND, Ohio — On Thursday, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) unveiled the winter standings for the 2025-26 NAIA LEARFIELD Directors' Cup. Milligan University sits at No. 10 in the standings after the conclusion of the winter sports seasons.

Points for the LEARFIELD College Directors' Cup are based on each institution's finish at the NAIA National Championships for each respective sport. Milligan had six of their winter sports earn nationals finishes, with women's basketball, women's bowling, women's swimming, men's swimming, women's indoor track & field and men's indoor track & field combining to rack up 310.75 points in the winter.

Women's basketball reached the national tourney for the third straight season, this time ending their year in the first round to rack up 25 points toward the standings.

Women's Bowling had a very similar conclusion to their 2025-26 campaign as their 2024-25 campaign, earning a NAIA berth as an at-large finishing in the 9th-12th spot for 25 points.

The women's swimming squad concluded in eighth place at the NAIA National Championships, matching their finish from 2024-25. They ended up scoring 66 points for the Buffs.

Men's swimming came in fourth in the nation, marking the top Milligan winter sport finish of the year. They posted 80 points toward the Directors' Cup standings.

Women's indoor track & field concluded the season with an 18th-place showing at nationals, picking up 55.5 points toward improve upon last year's 23rd-place finish.

Men's indoor track & field came away in 15th at the conclusion of the NAIA Championships, tallying 59.25 points for the Buffs' overall winter Director's Cup score.

Overall, six of Milligan's nine winter sports offerings put forth nationals appearances to contribute to the Director's Cup pursuit.

Milligan scored 310.75 points in the winter, as they now have a cumulative total of 521.25 to place on the No. 10 spot in the standings overall.

In the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC), the Buffs continue to set the standard, as the next AAC finisher is Montreat in 54th. Pikeville is the other AAC school in the top 100, placing 91st.

The LEARFIELD Directors' Cup spring standings will be released on June 9.
