SILVIS, Ill. — On Tuesday, the Milligan men's golf team's Francisco de Bethencourt took part in the first round of the NAIA National Championships at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. 

It was a very strong start to the four-round tourney for the Spaniard, who closed out 18 holes with a two-over-par score of 72 strokes to conclude the day tied for 25th place and just four strokes away from the leaders at two under.

For de Bethencourt, round two will begin at 10 a.m. on hole number one, as he looks to continue his strong play and make the cut which will halve the current tournament roster.
