Milligan Legends Talbert and Carver Inducted into 2025 Athletics Hall of Fame

MILLIGAN, Tenn. - Over the course of homecoming weekend, the Milligan University Athletics Hall of Fame gained a pair of new members, as Dallas Eddie Carver '75 and Jacklyn Talbert Barton '09 were honored for their contributions to the Buffs as standout student-athletes.

Dallas Eddie Carver '75

Carver had a massive impact upon Milligan men's basketball upon his arrival after serving in the U.S. Army, especially on the glass. He had a total of 1,539 rebounds in his four-year career with the Buffs, and had a single-game high of 29 rebounds.Additionally, he averaged a double-double during his career, having never played organized basketball before his college days. Carver was a co-captain of a Milligan College squad that finished at 25-6 and claimed a share of the Volunteer State Athletic Conference (VSAC) East Division title. Carver is also a Carter County Sports Hall-of-Famer, having been inducted in 2019 for his efforts as both a collegiate player and high school coach in the county.

Jacklyn Talbert Barton '09

Talbert Barton was a five-time NAIA All-American in cross country and track as a member of the Buffaloes, and helped lead Milligan to a third-place team finish at the 2007 NAIA Cross Country National Championships, which was the highest ever finish by a Buffs squad at the time. She was also a multiple-time Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) champion and was responsible for conference and school records. As part of the women's 4x800m relay team and the 2x1500m relay, she helped to set program-best marks of 9:24.58 and 19:53.02, respectively. She was part of the Buffaloes' women's distance medley team that earned bids to indoor nationals in both 2007 and 2008, as well.
