WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – On Friday morning, the Milligan University women's indoor track & field squad sent a quartet of athletes to the 'Twas the Meet Before Christmas event at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Chronologically, the Mile was the first event that a Buffs runner competed in, as
Ellen-Mary Kearney headlined the day with a school-record mark of 4:48.04, which she had previously held at 4:52.46 entering the competition. A pair of other Buffaloes ran the race as well, as
Kerigan Lewis put up a 5:10.80 mark and
Ana Canibano clocked a 5:13.10. All three of those times were personal-best clips.
The final event that included a Milligan harrier was the 3000m, in which
Alyssa Bearzi would finish fifth in 9:55.24, another personal-best run.
Next up for the women, as well as the men, is a trip to Blacksburg, Va. in 2026. The Buffs will head to the Virginia Tech Invitational on Jan. 16-17.
