4x800m Relay Squads Highlight Trip to Mondo Invitational for MU Indoor T&F

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – On Saturday, the Milligan University men's and women's indoor track & field teams competed in their first meet of 2026 at the Mondo College Invitational at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. Highlighted by their 4x800m Relay teams, the Buffaloes' men and women had a successful one-day event to start the second semester.

Milligan's women's 4x800m Relay team, including Ellen-Mary Kearney, Shelby Vitous, Ana Canibano and Kerigan Lewis, ran the fastest time in the NAIA this season. The squad totaled a 9:36.58, which is better than 10 seconds faster than the previous leaders at Dakota State.

The Milligan men matched their female teammates in their own 4x800m Relay, running a facility, meet, JDL college record time of 7:44.39. The NAIA 'B' standard time, which is currently tops in the NAIA, was run by Carter Windham, Luis Peralta, Aaron Gottlied and Marti Molins Rallo.

In the men's Shot Put, Trevor Sinard (5th, 13.99m, collegiate debut) and Zion Reddick (6th, 13.67m) came out with strong finishes.

Annabelle Stewart debuted in the women's 3000m on Saturday and came away in fourth at 10:01.42, which is currently good for the No. 5 time in the NAIA this season. Additionally, her time was an NAIA 'B' standard. Karly Wilhjelm (13th, 10:30.61) came away with a strong performance in her season debut. Abbie Page-Jones won the section two competition by completing a personal-best 10:48.10.

Bryson Lewis' efforts in the men's 3000m were impressive, as his time of 8:34.47 is the No. 9 time in the NAIA this season and is his personal-best time by better than six seconds.

The women's 400m open competition included Aleah Soderman, who ran a 1:01.37 clip and was just 0.14 seconds shy of her best ever mark.

Kaleb Spears ran the men's 400m as part of the seeded competition, completing the event in ninth with a time of 50.31 seconds.

Luis Peralta made his return to the track on Saturday, as the reigning NAIA indoor 800m national champion ran a meet and JDL college record time of 1:19.19 in the 600m event to win it. He now holds the No. 3 time in the NAIA this year. Molins Rallo placed fifth with a personal-best time of 1:21.28.

The women's 800m included the stellar run of McKenzie Fitzgerald (3rd, 2:19.80, PB), who now holds the No. 11 time in the NAIA at this point in the season. Isabelle Johnson placed ninth in 2:26.41.

For the women's 1000m, Kearney came away with a standout time of 2:48.45. That clip put her in fourth and would have constituted a new meet record. She is now the NAIA No. 1 in the event with that run. Stewart (9th), K. Lewis (10th), Wilhjelm (11th) and Kaylee Coll (13th) rounded out the top five Buffaloes.

Sinard came back to compete in the men's Weight Throw and debuted with a 15.56m toss of the implement.

The men's 1000m was run most impressively by Windham, who placed seventh in 2:31.13 to take the NAIA's No. 14 mark at this time in the campaign.

Fitzgerald returned to the track for the women's Mile, in which she ran a personal-best race of 5:13.89 to place 10th in the race.
