HENDERSON, Nev. – On Monday and Tuesday, the Milligan men's golf team sent a contingent to the desert of Henderson, Nev. for the RMC Intercollegiate at Lake Las Vegas  at Reflection Bay Golf Course hosted by Rocky Mountain College (Mont.). After 54 holes, the Buffaloes finished up with an eighth-place result.

Francisco de Bethencourt managed a sixth-place finish as an individual in the event. He ended up shooting one-over-par for the tourney, scoring rounds of 73, 71 and 73 in that order. His 217 total strokes put him just four strokes back of the eventual champion at 213.

Aidan Sinclair was the Buffaloes' second-highest placer, totaling a +10 score for the three-round tourney. He had strong first and third rounds at 74 and 73 strokes, but faltered in the second round with a total of 79 strokes. Overall, he took 226 strokes to tie for 23rd place.

It was Manuel Gutierrez who notched a 33rd-place conclusion to the tournament, scoring a 16-over-par score of 232 strokes, putting up rounds of 79, 76 and 77.

Hugo Lundberg's 234 strokes placed him 38th, as he posted three straight rounds of 78 strokes for the Buffs.

Lastly, Evan Caldwell finished 46th with a score of 254 strokes. He shot rounds of 86, 77 and 91 during the RMC Intercollegiate.

Milligan shot a total of 907 strokes, which was a +43 total for the tournament. They ended up in eighth, outpacing Benedictine Mesa (Ariz.) by one stroke and were just one stroke back of two teams who tied for sixth, Southern Oregon and Rocky Mountain.

The men will now be off for a trio of weeks, as they will next hit the links on March 23-24 at the Koala Classic in Columbia, S.C., hosted by Columbia College at Timberlake Country Club.
